In 2001 I graduated from ICC with honors before attending Ole Miss where I was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education. In May of 2003 I graduated from Ole Miss and that fall I started teaching World History at Houston High School. From 2003- end of 2018, I taught World History every year along with various other subjects in the Social Studies department including Psychology, Intro to Street Law, Economics/US Government, Sociology, MS Studies/Intro to World Geography. 2018 to present I teach American Democracy/American Leadership as well as Advanced Placement World History and Advanced Placement European History.

I am, at heart, a history nerd and I love World History, especially early Russian history. Being able to share not only my knowledge but also my love of this subject with my students makes this part of my job more of a passion than work. Helping students understand not just how the past shaped the present but also realizing that they will each have their own impact on the future is an amazing feeling.

When I'm not teaching or working on school stuff at home I am spending time with my three sons that are at home as well as my grown son and his daughters when they visit. I also love to read and write in my spare time.
