Tramon Robinson

May 2020

Congratulations to Tramon Robinson, a senior at Houston High School, for being voted the Exchange Club Student of the Month for May! Tramon is a special honor graduate. He is also a member of the HHS Beta and Anchor clubs. In his spare time, Tramon enjoys sports and listening to music. He plans to attend Itawamba Community College after high school graduation and major in engineering. Tramon is the son of Sha'Carla and Carlos Petty.

Bo Springer

April 2020

Congratulations to Bo Springer, a senior at Houston High School, for being voted the Exchange Club Student of the Month for April! Bo is a member of the Beta Club, HHS Golf Team and Anchor Club, where he serves as a 12th grade representative. Bo works at Grocer's Pride and enjoys hanging out with his friends in his spare time. Bo plans to attend Itawamba Community College and then transfer to Mississippi State University to major in physical therapy. Bo is the son of  Jamie and Laurie Springer.

Haley Makamson

March 2020

Congratulations to Haley Makamson, a senior at Houston High School, for being voted the Exchange Club Student of the Month for March!! Haley is color guard captain, Anchor president, a member of Beta Club and a HHS varsity cheerleader. She is also 1st Chair Clarinet, Mississippi State District Anchor secretary and  Spanish Honor Society president. Haley has performed with the MSU Honor Band and competed in the UCA National Cheer Competition in Orlando. Haley enjoys traveling, listening to music and journaling. She plans to attend Itawamba Community College and then transfer to Mississippi State to pursue a degree in interior design. Haley is the daughter of Ricky and Emily Makamson.

Jermaya Davenport

February 2020

Congratulations to Jermaya Davenport, a senior at Houston High School, for being voted the Exchange Club Student of the Month for February!! Jermaya is a member of the Anchor Club, Beta Club, Student Council and the Lady Toppers Basketball Team at HHS. Her honors include Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Spanish Honor’s Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Itawamba Community College. In addition, Jermaya is a member of New Zion’s Youth Choir and Drill Team. Jermaya loves to travel, read, spend time with her friends and family and watch Marvel movies. She plans to attend ICC to obtain her associate’s degree in nursing and then attend the University of Southern Mississippi for her bachelor’s degree. Jermaya is the daughter of Shelly Mims and Jermaine Davenport.

Kamryn Cooper

January 2020


Congratulations to Kamryn Cooper. She is a senior at Houston High School and was voted at HHS as the Exchange Club Student of the Month for January. Kamryn is a member of the Beta Club and Student Council. She is also the Public Relations officer for the Anchor Club. Kamryn is a Superintendent's Honor Roll student and member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Itawamba Community College. Kamryn enjoys traveling, reading and attending New Zion MB Church where she is part of the drama team, drill team and youth choir. Upon high school graduation, Kamryn plans to attend The University of Southern Mississippi to major in nursing. Kamryn is the daughter of Darren and Laquanda Cooper.


Pearson Taylor

December 2019

Congratulations to Pearson Taylor. He is a senior at Houston High School and was voted at HHS as the Exchange Club Student of the Month for December. Pearson is a trumpet player and the drum major for the Topper Pride Band, scoring superior as drum major at state competition this past fall.  He is a member of Anchor and Beta clubs and is also the stage director for the upcoming senior play. His honors include perfect attendance and principal's honor roll. Pearson attends First United Methodist Church and enjoys listening to music and traveling. Upon high school graduation, he plans to attend Itawamba Community College as a band student before transferring to a 4-year university. Pearson is the son of Jonathan and Wendy Taylor.

Emily Pettit

November 2019

Congratulations to Emily Pettit. She is a senior at Houston High School and was voted at HHS as the Exchange Club Student of the Month for November. Emily is Anchor Club secretary, HHS Color Guard Team captain, French Honor Society vice president, and a member of both the HHS Cheer Team and Beta Club. She plays the flute for the Topper Pride Band. Emily is also a superintendent's honor roll student and winner of the Woodmen of American History award. Emily enjoys playing the piano in her spare time. She plans to attend Mississippi State University upon high school graduation and major in accounting. Emily is the daughter of Hugh and Dawn Pettit.

Emma Brassfield

October 2019

Congratulations to Emma Brassfield! She is a senior at Houston High School and was voted at HHS as the Exchange Club Student of the Month for October. Emma is a member of Student Council and the French Honor Society. She is also FCA President, Secretary of the Beta Club and Anchor Club Public Relations Officer. She is a Superintendent's Honor Roll student and plays the bass drum for the Topper Pride Band. Emma enjoys playing the ukulele, listening to music and reading. Upon high school graduation, she plans to attend Mississippi College as a pre-med student and then attend medical school to become a pediatrician. Emma is the daughter of Jason and Amanda Brassfield.

Jasmine Rogers

September 2019

Congratulations to Jasmine Rogers! She is a senior at Houston High School and was voted at HHS as the Exchange Club Student of the Month for September. Jasmine is a member of the Anchor Club, Beta Club and Student Council. She also plays outfield for the HHS slow pitch and fast pitch softball teams. Her honors include Woodmen of American History, Latin, Academic Achievement and Citizenship awards. Jasmine enjoys traveling, reading and playing softball. She plans to attend the University of Mississippi to major in dental hygiene upon graduation. Jasmine is the daughter of Thomas Cousin and Yochia Rogers.  

Abby Kate Boyer

August 2019

Congratulations to Abby Kate Boyer! She is a senior at Houston High School and was voted at HHS as the Exchange Club Student of the Month for August. Abby Kate is a member of the Archery Team, Anchor Club and FCA Leadership Team at HHS, as well as the North East Mississippi Youth Foundation. She is president of the Beta Club and the Student Council, as well as the president of Mississippi State District Anchor. Abby Kate plays the baritone in the Topper Pride Band and was recently crowned HHS 2019 Homecoming Queen. Upon graduation, she plans to attend The University of Mississippi and major in Secondary Education/English. Abby Kate is the daughter of Buz and Kathryn Boyer.
